EGYPT – THE OASES EXPEDITION

Day 1: Arrival Cairo Airport. Transfer to hotel.

 

Day 2 (B L D): 1-hour drive SW through the Western Desert via Fayoum road to lush Fayoum Oasis for a full day tour - lunch included - visiting the 7 Waterwheels, Senusert Obelisk, Pyramid of Maidum, Lake Qarun - largest saltwater lake in Africa, Qasr Qarun (Dionysias) west of the lake, temples & ruins of the ancient city of Dimae north of the lake, and the picturesque waterfall at Rayyan Valley. Drive back to Cairo. Dinner at hotel.

 

Day 3 (B L D): Check out. Drive 3½ hours to Bahariya Oasis. Check into hotel. Lunch. Visit The two colored tombs of the 26th Dynasty (Qasr Selim), The Temple of the 26th Dynasty (Ain El Meftella), and the Temple of Alexander the Great. Walk on Black Mountain until sunset. Dinner at hotel.

 

Day 4 (B L D): Tour (by bike if you wish) The Bahariya Museum and see the newly discovered spectacular Golden Mummies. Lunch. Check out. 4X4 wheel drive thru the black desert, visiting the crystal mountains, for our camping tour to the incredible White Desert. Barbecue dinner and tented overnight under the stars!

 

Day 5 (B L D): AM Drive to Dakhla Oasis via Farafra Oasis, visiting the Farafra museum en route. Picnic lunch. Upon arrival to Dakhla, visit Al Qasr (Old Islamic Style Village), Deir Al Haggar Temple, and Al Muzzawaka. PM Relax & enjoy the hotel’s natural hot spring and green landscape surroundings. Dinner at hotel.

 

Day 6 (B L D): Check out. Drive to Kharga Oasis. On the way visit Om El Dabadib and Ain El Labeka. Picnic lunch. Check into hotel. Free city tour. Dinner at hotel.

 

Day 7 (B L D): Visit Hibis Temple, the Necropolis of Bagawat housing the temple of Dush, Al Nadoura, and Kharga Museum. Lunch. PM visit dates factories and local handicrafts. Dinner at hotel.

 

Day 8 (B D): After breakfast transfer to New Valley airport for your flight back to Cairo. Check into hotel. Balance of day at leisure, enjoying your hotel amenities and facilities, making last minute shopping, writing post cards, packing… Evening walk from hotel to pier for your farewell dinner Nile cruise & show.

 

Day 9 (B): Say goodbye to Egypt, as we drive you to the airport, assist & check you in for your flight home!
